Detailed cross domain data investigation and analysis
Display your well data, seismic, point sets, tabular data, 3D models with properties, and surface attributes in a variety of data analysis views. Blueback Investigator brings you powerful data analysis tools you can apply on data from multiple domains. Filter your data before you extract trends and best fit lines.
Matrix window
Plot many dimensions against each another in a matrix plot. The window makes it easy to spot relationships between dimensions.


Classification workflow
Classify data directly within the crossplot and apply these classifications to all supported data types. For example, classify known well data and apply this classification to related model properties.
Histogram with cumulative distribution functions
The custom plot windows include a series of functions for controlling the display of data and supporting elements e.g. axis, annotations, appearance, etc. Combine data from different domains, or select cases for data analysis using a sub-set of wells. Create your own filters and/or use the standard Petrel filters.


Discrete plots
Using discrete plots it is easy to visualize multiple property relationships at once. For example, compare well, upscaled and model data for multiple properties separated into individual facies plots at the click of a button.
3D plot window
The Blueback Investigator 3D plot window allows the user to view investigations in 3D conceptual or real world space. The 3D plot allows the user to view the conceptual space from various directions which can help understand the relationships between the different dimensions. Filtering and classification of point clouds can be performed in 3D space.


Blueback Spatial Selector
Select the data to be investigated by defining spatial selections using the keyboard or interact with them via the majority of Petrel windows. Optionally use surfaces and polygons to isolate features of interest. Blueback spatial selections can be manipulated in the Petrel 3D window, map window, seismic windows and the well section window.
Integration with Petrel windows
A spatial investigation can be visualized in the majority of Petrel windows allowing the data being analysed to be displayed in context with other domain objects.
